As part of her celebration of a lifetime of collaborative artistry, legendary flutist Carol Wincenc is performing a series of concerts featuring her commissioned works, including the world premiere of Goldenrod for flute and piano.

Dr. Joel Sachs will lead the New Juilliard Ensemble in a performance of the winning commission works by Sato Matsui and Ross Griffey in Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center.

Join us for a special benefit concert to support the WIN shelter and all of the wonderful work that they do.  “For more than 33 years, Win has provided safe housing, critical services, and ground-breaking programs to help homeless women and their children rebuild their lives. In the past year, Win served close to 10,000 homeless people — including nearly 6,000 children — and helped more than 800 families transition out of shelter into homes of their own.” The Uhuru Quartet will be presenting a program of all women composers- including world premieres by Sato Matsui and Camila Agosto.   

The opera Hoshi follows a young violinist from her parents' volatile household during and after a brutal divorce to a period sixteen years later, when she tries to reunite with her long-estranged father. After traveling to Japan for the first time in 16 years, Hoshi learns deep-seated truths about both of her parents, and wonders if she will ever be able to escape the patterns they have set for her.
